Banbury & District Show

  • date: Sun June 11, 2017
  • time: 10.30am – 4.30pm
  • place: Spiceball Park
  • what: Set over two fields with fun and entertainment for all the family. Free entry to this showcase of everything you need for a great day out.

Armed Forces Day

  • date: July 1, 2017
  • time: 10.30am – 4.30pm
  • place: Spiceball Park
  • what: a celebration of the Army Reserves, Banbury and District Sea Cadets, Banbury Army Cadet forces and Air Training Corps Cadets. On the ground, staged battles, canoe demonstrations a climbing wall and obstacle course while in the air a fly-past and a parachute display.

Banbury Food Fair

  • date: August 20, 2017
  • time: 10.30am – 4.30pm
  • place: Marketplace and the High Street
  • what: Over 100 traders are on hand (last year was almost 150) to offer visitors the chance to view, sample and purchase some of the tastiest food and drink in the country. There are cookery demonstrations, live radio broadcasts, entertainment and lots more. Held in conjunction with the Banbury Flower & Produce Show which showcases the efforts and amazing skills of local growers, bakers and crafters.

Old Town Summer Party & Street Organ Festival

  • date: September 2, 2017
  • time: 10.00am – 3.30pm
  • place: Old Town
  • what: Browse and shop  your  way  around the Old Town section of Banbury’s town centre, home to a great selecion of independent traders. There will be street entertainment, costumes, special window displays and once again, Banbury will  be filled with the sound  of  the  Street  Organ Grinders who will perform throughout   the   town,  raising funds for a charity nominated by Banbury’s Town Mayor.

Banbury Canal Day

  • date: 2017 Canal Day has been cancelled due to upcoming Castle Quay 2 construction. Back next year!
  • time: 10.30am – 4.30pm
  • place: Set along the canal in Banbury town centre
  • what: There are canal rides, performers, food stalls, crafters, tradders and demonstrations of all kinds.

Banbury Folks Festival and Hobby Horse Festival – newly merged into one big weekend of fun.

Remembrance Day Parade and Service

  • date: Sunday, 12 November 2017
  • time 10:00 to 13:00
  • place: Town Hall
  • what: Commemorating those who have served their country in wars past and present. 10.15am – military parade and civic procession from Banbury Town Hall & Broad Street to St. Mary’s Church for a 10.45am service. Followed by the laying of wreaths at the War Memorial in People’s Park at approximately 12noon and a return parade for dismissal in Broad Street.

Christmas Lights Switch On & Festive Market

  • date: Sunday 26th November 2017
  • time and place: 1pm – 8pm; Switch on 5pm around the tree outside the Town Hall. Click here for more information on this year’s switch on
  • what:: Launching the festive season in Banbury, this year’s even is bigger and longer than previous years and has a particular focus on community. There will be music, food and entertainment, and of course Santa!
